As we move into the second half of 2025, we’re excited to share updates that highlight inspiring stories, critical research progress, and new opportunities to get involved. Together, we continue to accelerate understanding and treatment of LMNA-related cardiac conditions.
💬 Webinar: Living with Heart Failure: A Candid Conversation with Dr. Samuel Sears
Join renowned cardiac psychologist Dr. Samuel Sears for an upcoming webinar where he will speak openly about the emotional and psychological aspects of living with heart failure. Gain comfort, insight, and practical strategies for patients and families navigating LMNA-related heart disease.
🚶 Walking for a Cure: the 4Days Marches Takes Steps Toward Awareness
Meet “Action for LMNA” a passionate Dutch team walking up to 200 km over four days during the 4Days Marches. Their mission: raise awareness and funding for LMNA-related heart disease research, advocacy, and community support.
Save the date! The LMNA Patient & Family Day in North Carolina will be on Sunday, November 2nd and Monday, November 3rd.
Hosted by LMNA Cardiac and the LAMIN Registry, this two-day event in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina will bring together patients, families, and experts in the LMNA field. The goal of the meeting is to encourage patients and families with LMNA cardiac disease to connect with each other, as well as both medical and research experts in the field. Come for a day of fellowship, information on the medical considerations of LMNA cardiac disease, and updates on the latest research. There will be no cost for registration and all are welcome.
LAMIN: The LMNA Mutation Registry of North America is a clinical registry with the goal of identifying how LMNA-mediated disease progresses. The registry is encouraging patients and families with LMNA mutations, and heart disease, to self-enroll and join the study. If you choose to join our research, we are able to consent in person or over the phone and arrange for a DNA sample to be collected.
Check out our website for more information and resources, as well as how to participate. Please reach out to the study Principal Investigator, Dr. Andrew Landstrom (andrew.landstrom@duke.edu), at anytime if you have questions.

🔬 Focus on LMNA c.331 Mutation – Research Underway
A new research effort is underway to better understand the LMNA c.331 mutation, with support for PhD researchers now secured. The team is actively looking for more patients with this specific variant to participate in ongoing studies. If you or someone you know carries the c.331 mutation, your involvement could help accelerate critical discoveries.
Thank you for being part of the LMNA Cardiac community. Whether you’re a patient, caregiver, clinician, or researcher, your involvement is helping push the field forward — and we’re so grateful to be on this journey with you.❤️
Every contribution, regardless of its amount, fuels crucial efforts in research, medical education, patient advocacy, and raising awareness about LMNA cardiac diseases.
